The Mets haven't achieved this Subway Series feat in over a decade

The New York Mets are partying like it's 2013. That's the last time the Amazin's swept a season series from the Pinstripes.

Not even a delays in refueling the team plane could stop them.  The Mets were stranded on the tarmac in Miami into the wee hours of Tuesday's and that couldn't stop the surging Mets on Tuesday in the Bronx.

Carlos Mendoza's Mets followed a narrow 3-2 win with a 12-3 romping in the finale. Francisco Lindor hit a three run shot and a two run bomb, Pete Alonso's two-run round tripper with Tyrone Taylor and Mark Vientos adding solo bombs.

The Mets look like a team to be reckoned with come October, while the Yankees are searching for answers to a mid season swoon.

The Yankees still hold the overall edge against the Mets in head to head matchups with an 80-66 mark and five game series win over them in the 2000 Subway World Series.
