Mets magical season ends in Game 6 of NLCS

The Mets season came two wins short of a World Series appearance.

The Dodgers advanced to their first Fall Classic since 2020 by virtue of a 10-5 win in Game 6 of the NLCS.

The Amazin's continued a season-long trend of not converting with runners on scoring position hitting just 2 for 9 in such instances.

The Mets jumped out to a 1-0 lead with Pete Alonso's infield single scoring Francisco Lindor from third.

Tommy Edman put Los Angeles ahead with a two-run double in the bottom of the frame.

Edman slugged a two-run shot off Sean Manaea in the third and with reliever Phil Maton replacing him, Will Smith hit a two-run homer.

Mark Vientos answered with a two-run bomb of his own to start the fourth to slice the lead to 6-3.

The teams traded runs in the seventh before the wheels came off in eighth with Kodai Senga giving up three runs for a 10-4 Dodger lead.

The Mets plated a run in their final at bat, but that was all she wrote.

One of the most memorable seasons in Mets history officially came to a close.

A lifetime of great moments on and off the field will stay in the hearts and minds of Mets fans. Hopefully, this is the start of better things yet to come.
